I like to think of the bra as the foundation garment. Where it all starts. It holds everything up, and if you don’t have a good one, the worse the structure looks.
Same principle applies with a bra. It often baffles me how many women don’t take the time to find a truly great bra.
To be fair, most of us become accustomed to wearing a certain size. Unless something significant happens (pregnancy, weight gain/loss, etc), we pretty much stick with it. I admit I am guilty of this as well. Then I realized I spent more time and consideration on shoes than things that shape my body.
My priorities shifted, to say the least.
The reality is that the entire scope of women do not all fit between sizes 34B-38DD. How do you know you are wearing the wrong size? Take a look:
At Le Bustiere, the very first thing we do is offer you a free bra fitting, to make sure we get you into your TRUE size. Not in stock? Don’t worry; we are more than happy to order it for you.
Here are a couple of tips on how to find the perfect bra:
1. GET MEASURED/ TRY IT ON!
It sounds so simple. But it’s not. If you are anything like me, you loathe even imagining crowded dressing rooms and long lines. But in this case, I have learned it is better to just suck it up and do it. Luckily, our store has two lovely dressing rooms whose spacious, vintage atmosphere provides not only privacy but actual room to move.
2. Straps are adjustable for a reason
Pretty self explanatory; Perk those ladies up!
2. Do not be afraid of the sizing system
Another reason why it is important to be measured. Your band size might be a 33, for example. So do your go for the 32 or the 34? The answer is simple. Why not both? Forget the size and play with different combinations until you feel comfortable.
3. Not all bras are created equal You know how at H&M you can be an 8, but at The Limited you are a 4? Lingerie is the same. We tend to forget that these are GARMENTS, like any shirt or pair of pants.
Some run small, some big. Cut, material and quality affect the overall fit. A Curvy Kate bra is not the same as an Arensky bra for so many reasons…

Notice the difference?
It’s amazing how many women I’ve seen come into the store and find themselves amazed at the transformation when they are put into a properly fitting bra. One customer exclaimed, “I think you just took off 10 pounds!”
Another threw her old bra into the trash and walked out in a new one, declaring every woman who comes in should do the same. So ladies, come in and be transformed!
